Disabilities include both physical and psychological symptoms, all of which can have a negative impact on a person’s quality of life. At Sun Healthcare, we work with individuals to overcome these barriers and to build confidence and self-esteem.

‘Supporting people in moving forward is a key focus of what we do.’

Supported living services

We specialise in the treatment of long-term physical conditions, which may be genetic or through trauma. These include multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, acquired brain injury and other neurological problems. Our experienced team has strong links with professional services such as physiotherapists, occupational health and alternative therapists – and all of this support is coordinated through the individual’s person-centred plan.

People within our homes and supported living services are encouraged to set their own goals, which are the focus of their care plans. We empower people to become more independent and believe in their own potential. As part of this process, our staff assist individuals with gaining:

– Domestic skills
– Community living skills
– Educational opportunities
– Vocational opportunities.

“It’s a very good place to live with good caring staff. The nurses, both day and night, are always there to help you. They have given me the support and confidence to use my electric mobility scooter to go to and from the local shops and area.”

“In this homely, friendly, caring and secure environment, my brother has had a far greater quality of life than he had experienced in the previous thirty years. This is all down to the staff, whom I cannot praise enough.”
